Jade Mellin, Class of 2026
During my junior year, taking AP Spanish Literature was a meaningful experience because it helped me earn my Seal of Biliteracy while also exposing me to Spanish literature and culture in a deeper way. The class introduced me to a new side of the Spanish language, and although it was challenging at times, I genuinely enjoyed the learning process.
My teacher, Mrs. Flores, was very understanding and supportive, often making exceptions when needed. Even though I did not always understand her teaching methods while in the class, I saw their effectiveness when I passed the AP exam.
Many people are quick to assume that AP Spanish Literature is harder than AP Spanish Language, but in reality, both classes require effort and offer similar benefits.
Overall, this course taught me not to shy away from classes simply because they are less common, but instead to build my own experience and explore what I truly enjoy.
