Post by Genesis Dominguez, Class of 2026
I am currently taking Honors Anatomy and Physiology, which has many benefits, especially for students who want to go into the medical field, because it provides a strong foundation in understanding how the human body is structured and how it functions. Although the course includes a large amount of content and requires making time for homework, studying, and taking lots of detailed notes, the material is interesting and rewarding because you learn how the inside of the body works and how different systems depend on one another.
The class also includes hands-on learning, such as dissections of a sheep’s heart and brain, which help connect textbook knowledge to real anatomy. In addition, we learn about different diseases, disorders, and the treatments that go along with them, making the information feel real and applicable to medical careers. Overall, the challenge of the course helps build critical thinking skills, medical vocabulary, and strong study habits that are essential for success in health-related fields.
